it has been these past few days the issue of filipino/filipina's reputation on the net. Frankly, I have nothing against the poster, we might misunderstood 'him' for giving 'his' own view, but the real issue here is about the 'proposed law' of the Hongkong gov't.regarding filipina 'maids'. Well, there's nothing wrong with being a maid, what! As far as I'm concern, some maids gave dignity to their chosen field career. So what if they are maids? The only reason why this all boils up into some hot balloon is that,low as the level of work this maids can be, they're still being stepped-on! For those not being aware of what a filipino culture is, pls, allow me to say, 'pinoys' are rather weird if not unique in some other Asians. Why? because we tend to react on issues that concerns our 'being filipinos'. Me, too, do not understand, but probably, because we were brought up to love our 'race', to love our country and give pride/dignity to our job (whatever it may be).

The Philipines has backed itself into a corner and is now too heavily reliant on overseas workers to try and control the situation now.

It just some shallow point of view of one guy. On the other hand, there are back ups from the government while they are working on this issue.

If they don't want the jobs then someone else will be "demanded" instead and they will gladly take them just as the Filipinos did. It is good to be patriotic and proud of your home, but you really need to get over yourself. The reality is if all the filipinos and filipinas remained in the Philippines, they and the Philippines as a whole would suffer MUCH more than the rest of the world. Every consider how many Chinese there are to replace filipinos??

Defending them of course...i'm trying to let people who benefit or say get these much good service from filipinas to stop giving em negative or obnoxious remarks like they do not need their help or anything good from them. or if they hate filipinas that much...why do they demand them to start with...I maybe wrong or raw in some points of course but..clearly my point is all these negative comments given out to filipinas are not acceptable...for those people who mock em.
