Looking for a good job in a good school

Here's my story!

I was contracted to come to Doha to work in a girls independant school as of October 1st. After I got here the school refused to sign a contract with me and changed my job duties wothout telling me. I was hired to be an English Teacher paid with a good salary.

After I got here to Doha it changed to teach four English classes/English Coordinator/MYP Coordinator all for the same salary. I advised the principal of the school this was all to much for anyone person to do.

After the first week and alot of talking to change the situation. I was told because I complained that I was wrong and the job changed to teaching 4 classes and MYP Coordinator. Ok! a little better.

But after the 2nd week the school decided to make a trip to Paris for a conference and for myself and 3 other people to attend. At the last minute I was made to register for the conference fill out visa forms and expected to get them from the French Embassy even for a non Qatari person and also to book travel arrangments and book and pay for flights for everyone.

We made the trip on November 6th and returned and this week I was told that I was no longer needed. Because they hired a person from England to do my job.

I am an excellent teacher with alot of skills and now because the school is not paying for my accomodations I have been stuck here in Doha since October 1st paying for very expensive hotels. So thank you for taking the time to listen to my story as I am in need of some help.

Best Regards,

Cynthia Herzog

Dear Sir or Madam,

It is with great interest that I am exploring employment opportunities at your school/college. I am confident that my experience and skill sets, would be an asset to your students learning and development.

Education is vital to establishing a strong foundation. The absence of education allows the opportunities for ignorance to take form and grow, resulting in negative repercussions in society. Therefore, I aim to guide the students in developing the skills and knowledge necessary in becoming mature and contributing to members of our community.

As a teacher, I hope to motivate students to do their best and extend their own personal limits. In my classroom, students must commit themselves to a level of performance that challenges them to reach their full potential. Expectations of students should be high and by the end of the school year, they can realize that achieving any goal set before them is possible. This is a valuable lesson that they can apply to their lives beyond the classroom.

As a result, there is a strong level of trust that develops and allows me to provide direction in working towards realizing shared goals and objectives. When faced with challenges, I succeed in utilizing a variety of strategies to motivate and encourage positive interaction.

I am eager to grow in my profession and I invite you to contact me, at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Herzog
