KPMG Qatar

Hello Everyone

I am thinking of joining KPMG Qatar and was wondering if anyone had any useful tips about the company??? and/or compared to Deloitte in Qatar.

Also, how would you consider a salary of 9000 QR after the rent has been paid to a single 25 year old?? that amount is of course exclusive bonus, relocation package and other benefits.

Hope anyone would have any comments.

Thank you all

I have been to the one of the KPMG's provided accommodation and in my opinion is quite run down. And I think it is a shared accommodation.

I can tell you that a starting consultant gets roughly QR 8k at Deloitte, exclusive of accommodation, relocation and bonuses, to name a few 'perks'.

To bring up the subject of Turnover, four Analysts quit Deloiite in February alone, and my contact there is actually resigning for a much better position at a very well known bank. But on the plus side, he said that of the four leaving, three of them are relocating to much better positions. Deloitte is seen as a stepping stone for most recent entrants. And the company has no problems with this image.

Qatar has not been around for 55 years! let alone Deloitte, lol.

55 years could more aptly describe Deloitte's regional historical presence.

Good luck in whatever you do! :)

Mohammed.

I didn't think Deloitte had been in Qatar for 55 years. Am pretty certain they are relatively recent entrants into the market (certainly the consulting market). In 17 years I never heard of anyone or met anyone from the organisation.

Ohhh yes, don't worry, i made sure that the salary review is mentioned on the agreed date in the contract.

Well, I can imagine that Deloitte has a ridiculous high turnover, but it is isn't surprising as they have been in Qatar for more than 55 years where KPMG entered recently.

Sounds good if you have a rough idea about salaries given at Deloitte. I will be working as a consultant at KPMG and have 2 years of experience. What do you think about that?

As others have Painfully stressed on this board, Please ENSURE that you have the Salary review clause in WRITING and signed by the necessary parties.

Verbal agreements in the Middle East (or elsewhere save perhaps, Japan) amount to nothing more than Siren calls.

From what I have heard, Deloitt's pay is hardly competitive, seeing as their turnover rate is ridiculously high!

whats is your position there? and how many years experience do you have so that i can tell you how it compares to deloitt's pay

I am given 11.000, and then they will deduct 2000 as I will be using their accommodation.

Do you think the given salary is placed on a non-European salary level??

I am a bit apprehensive, but I know for a fact that there will be a salary review in 6 months time.

I was thinking the same, but would it change your opinion if I said that I was a fresh MBA candidate??

I assume the company wants me to proof my self the first 6 months before a review on my salary which would be around sep/oct.

9000 Qr. is ok for a single .ask for more may be around 11000 approx. exclusive of rent. Cost of living is quiet high here as wella s the apartments....

That's a bit tight of them I think, knowing what they charge their clients.
