IT/UNIX Training Institutes in Doha
Hi,
Anybody know about good UNIX training institutes in Doha? I did search for it and found out some institutes viz: Family Computers, Syscoms, Aptech etc. but they are concentrating mainly on MS Office trainings, CCNA, A+, N+ and some basic linux trainings.
Aptech just trains for CCNA and some long duration courses like ACCP or something like that.
SYSCOMS and Family is into the above said categories.
But wondering why no institutes are offering core UNIX trainings like AIX,SOLARIS,HP,Red Hat and some advanced stuffs like Cloud Computing, virtualization etc.
Does this indicate that there are NO demand for these from the crowd? Truly unbelievable. All these are the Gods of server computing and NO training institutes concentrate on these :(
Guess all the Doha IT folks are flying to Dubai to get trained.
Any idea why the UNIX training market is so down?
Or please let me know if there are any good UNIX training institutes in Doha which I missed.
Regards
In nutshell UNIX handles high server loads and provides high up-time and consequently more reliable.
By the term server computing I meant server farms..not 2 Unix and 3-4 windows servers. Im working in IT since long. No major application setup..(i repeat) no major application setup which has to deal with huge data never recommend windows as its application as well as database servers.
This doesnt mean that nobody is using windows as servers..but if your concern is server uptime (means you cannot afford any down time) windows servers are simply out of scope.
Then MCSE,MCP,MSDBA etc are in the market since long..of late MS had introduced new certifications like MCITP, MTA and many more.
By the way: the certifications stuffs are with any Unix brands or any IT products brand..you name it they have it..whether its HP,SOLARIS,AIX,RED HAT or what ever.
Guess you are an IT newbie.
Im sure in future you will learn more about server computing and you will change your mindset..you take my word.
I am sure that there are many servers out there who are in windows platform. Not to say unix is obsolete... u can have 2 unix server & 3-4 windows servers in a data centre. Just saying that windows are more in demand now. Tat's why they have certifications like MCSE.
In fact I think the new graduates are more into windows than linux which I think is bad. Linux is more robust & I do like to work on linux platform. More challenging :)
@n_minie..guess you are not in to IT.
In server computing world MS is still an infant :)
NO major servers in the world are being operated in MS Operating Systems.
Unix is not so in 'DEMAND' now. It's microsoft era now. Although I do agree that banking sectors still use AS 400 & unix systems.
