IT-related job networking

Hi:

Are there any IT folks out there that are kind enough and willing to do some job-related networking in Qatar? I am familiar with Qatar, but have no contacts whatsoever in the IT field. So, I'd like to hear especially from those who have contacts or are currently employed (or anyone else wanting to share useful info for that matter) that can be of any help and a reference in landing a job in Qatar. I'll highly appreciate anyone's help with this request.

Hope this will help other newcomers as well.

A lot of thanks in advance.

Regards.

Thanks for replying. Sorry, if it's not clear. Let me see if I can explain it better.

That's what I've seen based on my experience working in the US: usually people find their next jobs (or get interview calls) through recommendations from someone already inside the company and; moreover, the hiring managers really prefer that rather than picking a resume off the resume-stack. The recommendations usually make the hiring managers’ job a lot easier by not spending any time in eliminating those candidates that could be a misfit either technically or behaviorally (or personality-related issues) for the job. So, knowing people in your field creates a networking that helps job-seeking candidates to get their foot in the door by delivering their resume/CV in the hands of the hiring managers instead of they keep submitting for the jobs that goes, in most cases if not always, in the abyss of pile of CVs which goes nowhere. So, I want to find out if there are folks out there, who know all the know-how of working in IT in Qatar, can (or are willing to) forward a CV to the hiring managers either in their company or to someone else that they know can help in getting an interview call. I hope it clears up any confusion my previous post has caused.

Just to give you a quick background: I have 9 years IT working experience in the US that includes mainly software quality assurance, but development and network administration as well. I am trying to find a job in Qatar as my parents already live here and I want to be closer to them.

Any help or pointers are welcome and would be appreciated.

Thanks.
