Hi people,

I am in the IT profession and working in Kenya. I have worked for 2 months as a pre-sales engineer at Bernsoft Interactive(www.bernsoft.com) and also for 3 months as an assistant systems admin with Dubai Bank Kenya Ltd where i worked with the Temenos T24 core banking system.

I am currently looking for any IT Related opportunities within Qatar,I would appreciate any assistance offered.

Thank you for your input Fabur.I however find you overly pessimistic though.I have about 5 friends from Qatar of Kenyan origin working for Qatar Airways and from our discussions they usually don't paint such a gloomy picture.

So let me try my luck.....we shall see how right you were at the end of the day.

There are even more very well qualified people chasing almost no jobs in Qatar.

With just 5 months experience you would be lucky to find a job at all, and if you did I would tell you to expect maybe US$1500/month.

For the relatively short time i have worked i have specialized in:

(i)Systems Engineering (currently in MCSE 2nd module)

(ii)IT Pre-sales engineering- I have drafted proposals, presented them to small and large corporates here in Kenya, drafted process flow plans for them and also implementation plans.I also make quotations.

(iii)I am also versed with the banking processes and various technology products involved.

....i could send you my detailed resume.

Kenya is a land with great minds and education. The problem i would say is that there are too many well educated people chasing few jobs. This makes employers pay people very little for very demanding jobs.I work for 12 hours a day,and for that i would expect better than the very little I get per month with no accommodation factored in.Most employers also don't want to sponsor you for any expensive technical course here, because they fear that you will fly out to other countries before they have recovered their costs. So they usually prefer getting expats and paying them much more.

So simply put, I am looking for a better pay package and an opportunity to work with global brands in a professional environment that will see me grow in an IT related direction.
