Hi,

You can post your resumes in Dohacareers.com - Qatar's premium and affordable job portal covering jobs from all sectors and industries in Qatar and the Gulf region.

Since It concentrates more on doha qatar area, i think this will relly help you in getting a job.

The other site is www.egulfcareers.com.

I found both of these sites really effective & got a call within a week of my job posting...,

I think that it will really help you..smileys with beer

Besides this you can post in other job sites too,but their response has gone down these days..

gdbls, how much do you know about computers? Obviously your able to get online and post on a forum. Do you know anything about MS Office? Word, Excel, PowerPoint? These are basic applications you'll need while working in an office. Try to do a PA (personal assistant)short course, learn short hand. If you are to improve your english talking skills i suggest you try speaking in english to your husband lol, but seriously, watch some english movies fun way to learn :)

Your right its cheaper to do computer courses in India, also improve your typing speed. Your husband seems to be a man of great ego and pride, obviously he has a lot of pride in you and will not accept you doing just any work. You need to clear this up with him first, in today's times its not about where you work and what u work as. Money is the key to happiness here and you already have 2 kids, I dont think schooling is cheap here either.

Good Fortune always comes knocking at your door...when you are sh*tting in the toilet!! :)

FS..I agree with you..Atif just made matters worse..he sounds sincere though or maybe..

gdbls..knowledge is power..English will widen ur oppurtunities..try to improve!

My advise to you is to keep looking and train urself..

memorize one english word everyday..no more than 1 word a day!

If you have time, try to read books, it will take boredom away and teach you at the same time..plan your reading too!

Good luck

Atif...let me tell you something...from her post it is quite clear that she is worried...above that your comments will make her even worthless..Please don’t give such negative comments to people who are already depressed!

Here in Qatar nobody is asking which subject you graduated.. If you check the ads for any admin/secretarial position educational qualification will be Bachelors degree..(in her case she got masters)

There many reasons to choose what you learn..either liking for the subject, low marks to get admission for other subjects. When she was studying, she may not have any intention in coming to Gulf, in India you can get lots of jobs with masters degree in Language/lietrature.

I do agree without knowing fluent English she cannot manage to work in a good office. But then again her written English is much better than many other people..so I believe if given some training she can improve her English speaking skills..Which will help her get some admin asst position in some local company.

Taking Hindi tuition is also an option..as many children find Hindi difficult as its their 2nd or 3rd language in school.

What I meant is you could have said the same thing in a better way in your first comment!

I didn't mean to hurt GDBLS it's just i'm telling what i have seen on news channel & also on yahoo site too. Moreover, tell me what is the future of a person who has mastered in a language??

.

In Qatar, except for education sector where else HINDI is required in any other sector in Qatar or in the whole MIDDLE EAST. Same thing goes for ARTS. One must obtain only those degrees which have bright future in the world e.g. Business Admin,Accountancy,Doctoriate,Architect, IT professional etc.

.

Now our sister GDBLS has accepted that she doesn't have command on english neither on anyother demanding tools or skill which can earn her good money for her family's future. Her Technician husband is earning enough only to spend the whole month but not enough so that they can save it for their children's future.

.

Moreover, she is being asked to have other courses but how can she do it when she doesn't have enough money to bear the cost of such courses. I think nothing is free in Qatar. You have to pay for almost everything.

.

I really feel sorry for her but what i have said is also not wrong. Till now, she can be a HOME TUTOR teaching students HINDI at home or if she is lucky enough might get a reasonable job in any INDIAN SCHOOL

.

May GOD help u in this difficult time

ya i'm planning of that. but i hav good teaching experience. i had good opportunities in home country, but as my hubby is here nd i don't wan 2 stay there, so i'm trying here. now I'll consider all ur's suggestion nd work on one another, let see where i click. thanks 4 replies.

Atif that was not so nice....if all become scince & math graduates there wont be anyone to teach labguages and arts.

gdbis Why dont you volunteer to teach in some school without pay for few months...if they find you good..they will hire you...

Even if you dont have any teaching expreience.there is nothing wrong in adding couple of yrs of teaching experience in some local school back home.if you are confident..its not a problem.

Try taking some spoken english class if you wanna try for some receptionist job in some clinics or small companies to start with.

oh thanks 4 al ur replies. regarding baby sitting my hubby didn't agree to this. coz its kids responsibilities of other people. they may say one another thing nd i hav to listen their hard words. my hus don't want al these. thats y i ignored that.

anyways i'll try to do some computer courses,

actually i wanted to ask u all buddies regarding updating my knowledge or study, that any other jobs, like secretary's , or any job based on any any simple computer courses. k... hope u got my answers. i took ur lots of time, sorry 4 this. and if possible plz reply 4 any simple new courses which could i do 4 some official jobs...

when you apply for job at any school, dont ask for teaching position only, besides you can apply at any school not only Indian schools, they all need staff, just tell them that you are willing to do any kind of job since your English is fairly good

by the way why you dont try to look for ajob at any store like Ramiz... I saw many expact working there

just keep trying

good luck

I would advise you to keep an open mind, and be willing to do any job..

A lot of working couples here like us do not have time to cook..We have a lady who comes in few times a week and cooks for us, and we pay her QR 50 a visit, plus I have to pick her up and drop her..

and we are not the only family who engages her services..

She works as a baby sitter for many people, taking care of the kids when the parents are away...

You are educated, you can do better than her, you can do tuitions, try tele marketing, try stitching, the possibilities are end less..I repeat, just that you have to have an open mind...

best of luck..

Ok.. i can understand your situation and i can understand that after studying all those long years you come to a situation where it's difficult to get a job and it's depressing.

As ppl here suggested rightly... you have 2 options

1) Baby Sitting. i saw many ppl asking for a good baby sitter and who could be better than a mom of 2 kids. this jobs suits you.

2) Delicious home made food. i am sure many indian guys would like it. on a small scale you can start it from home and cater nearby people. i guess that will not be a problem. it's not like a business. you can treat it like everyday you are giving party food to nearby indians and yes profit margin is very high in food business. sometimes it's almost 100% profit. give it a try.

3) Give Ads on Qatar Living. i Guess you will get reply.

i know i am repeating myself as these suggestions are given by other ppl here and i think this is the best way to quick start.

who told u to get ur MASTERS in a language & you have a B.ED in Hindi & arts. Gosh, once i read in CNN website about the worst educational/professional degrees & one of them was of language & arts which are almost useless in today's hitech world.

.

Our asian culture also creating all sorts of problems for us like in ur case, you joined ur husband after 13 years which is totally wrong and unjust for a married COUPLE.

.

Anyhow, you can post on QATAR LIVING and do submit ur CVs in different Indian schools. Moreover, try for TUTIONS at home. This might help u out too.

.

Sister, overall I would say that as per ur qualification, it will be extremely hard for u to get a reasonable job but again don't lose hope and do hope for BETTER FUTURE for urself, ur children & husband.

If you are not able to get job for Hindi Teacher, try doing something else...

Since you have 2 kids why not start baby sitting at home, many parents are looking for some good moms to takecare of their kids while they are on jobs.

By this you can help you hubby with some money.

Post a add in QL for providing Babycare and people around your area will sure consider it.

A masters degree? Somehow you'll have to improve your written English to convince prospective employer. Do show some of your trade skills in other areas rather than just an academic certificates.

Well to be honest there is a LOT you can do...have you tried giving hindi tuitions at home? Have you tried baby sitting? Have you tried cooking food for bachelors and supplying them to office? These are all home based businesses u could do without worrying about leaving your home. I'd also suggest you do some computer courses and learn to draft letter and some typing etc as then you'll have a lot of other options :) hope this helps.
