hello all,

yes i know its a great time to look for work, but i am looking!
Are there people around who work in the hospitallity? Did you all found a job before you came to Qatar and or what ways did you go to find the job when you were abroad? Will it be bettre for me to go to Qatar on a tourist visa and apply?
Looking for a job in the hospitallity preferrably banquet side. Any ideas are appreciated.

Loulsy, you know how it goes out here ... they hire based on resume, then find out very quickly that the guy is a useless piece of SH1T and need to find a replacement quickly. Established hotels have established staff ...

since they just opened then for sure they will not be LoOKIng as recruitment for opening is done way in advance for the pre-opening stages are the most important.. .

Jeroen, either you need to look at already opened and functioning properties or look up hotels that are planning to open by the end of the year..

Example, Mariott Courtyard , Shangrila, and Rotana.. which are set to open by end of 2009 probably beginning of 2010 here in Doha.. look them up in Google and apply for what they have.. but please note that hotels here dco not pay that high.. especially if you are line staff or back of the house.. managerial positions are high but again not that high..

you can try Catererglobal.com for specific Hospitality positions...

wish you all the best

Try the W or Grand Hyatt - just opened so I'm sure they must be looking!
