Desert trips

Is anybody organising desert trips around the country? Are there gatherings of people that meet up for adventure on weekends? Who organises them? I would prefer to avoid agencies and guides and go alongside experienced locals who are willing to take somebody on board with them.

Look forward to this experience!

TCOM I'm thinking leave thu afternoon and come back fri morning. Did that this weekend at Dhukhan beach and it was amazing. The sea is just perfect here for a night swim.  Oh and your BBQ would be the best thing to top off a night swim!! Lets get the planning started :D

i had the chance to try safari once short while ago with a company called arabicadventures n they were pretty good

yes inland sea is amazing but according to them u shouldnt b doing this during summer time unless u go late at night n spend the night instead of spending the day

still it is a nice experience n a good change from daily routine

if u r planning something please count me in if u dont mind

FYI, the agencies are operated by "experienced locals". In the past 4 years, I've had pretty good experiences with Alpha Tours and Sahara Tours. The agencies provide insurance cover (are covered by insurers, and so are you). If you go by yourself with "experienced locals" you are on your own.

Try to get a few friends together and go camping in the desert. I heard the inland sea is awesome. So I'm trying to organize one for next weekend.
