I am a nurse, with only 10 mos experience in the Philippines. I know it would be difficult for me to get qualified in the hospital. I just want to know if you know some clinics wakra, doha or mesaieed area... who are hiring nurses... I just really need to find a work or atleast gain some more experience. Thank you... By the way, I am a father's sponsor.

ennaoj26...if i may reply as a medical professional...when you go to a doctor,if you had a choice, would you see a fresh graduate with less than a year's experience treating patients or would you go to someone with at least a few years experience?...you needn't answer,we both know what the honest answer to that question is...now why does the population of Qatar have to subjected to a nurse with not even 1 year's experience because the Philipines produces so many of them???...India produces an equally high number of nurses & doctors, you don't see all of them landing up here WITHOUT the required years of experience...

You obviously sympathize with the OP 'cos you're in a similar siutation but there are rules & laws to be followed & i don't make those rules...

My post was meant to be a deterrent because unlike you,i'm thinking long term,if this person works here illegally,it's a very small country & Doha is an even smaller town, sooner or later, she will be found out, furthermore the local health authorities are carrying out surprise inspections @ health facilities all over the city(something unheard of in the past) specifically to ensure that only licensed doctors & nurses are practicing & once she's caught, she will be blacklisted straight away & not only will she have to leave the country, she will NEVER be able to work, not just in Qatar but the whole of the GCC EVER AGAIN...

The US & Canada are facing a sever shortage of nurses, why doesn't she go try her luck there?...for sure she wouldn't because they are a lot stricter there & plus they require more than the one-year requirement here & she faces the prospect of going to jail apart from not being able to work there again,so why is it that you lot think that the middle east is a fertile dumping ground for all the freshly graduated nurses from the Philipines simply because you have a surplus there???...how does the GCC have anything to do with or in anyway responsible if the Philipines produces a surplus of nurses???...are they in any way obligated to hire them simply because there is a surplus in the Philipines???...by that logic,as i said earlier, the same can be said about India,A LOT of nurses graduating there as well, should i,as a fellow Indian expect the GCC to employ them with less than a year's experience because of that fact???...

I don't think you're getting my point here,my response would be exactly the same if an Indian nurse posted this same query...

This region seriously lacks standard in healthcare & hiring doctors & nurses who graduated yesterday IS NOT going to improve that standard...

Like i said,i don't make the rules,i'm only stating them as they are, getting caught & blacklisted in the GCC is i'm sure something the OP does not have in mind,'cos that means she will have to go back to the Philipines & stay there,NEVER being able to come here again, would you rather she experience that or go back home, get the required two month's experience(she has 10 months already, she only needs another two),come here, get licensed & work LEGALLY???...the local health authorities have a website with all the requirements stated on it,if the OP had chosen to go through the requirements BEFORE coming here, she could've worked another two months, got the full one year's experience & THEN come here, got a license & got herself a job(which btw,she would've got very easily since there is a shortage of nurses here as well.)

Your friend has every right to look for an employment opportunity anywhere in the world PROVIDED she abides by the laws of the country she goes to & LEGALLY works there...

I'm always being asked by colleagues in the private health sector if i know of ELIGIBLE nurses,(i.e those with the required experience & a local license to practice),so to address your "be more sensitive" statement,i can get this girl a job tomorrow PROVIDED she is licensed to practice nursing in the State of Qatar & in order to be eligible to do that, she needs to have one year's CERTIFIED experience...those are the facts,i'm only stating them as they are...if you can't deal with the reality of the situation & the country you've chosen to come to,please don't take it out on me...

I have been reading many of your posts here in this forum and all I can say is that you have a lot of frustrations, all you can comment about is negativity.. Would it be possible for you to be a little more sensitive and positive in a way that you can empathize with the other people posting here? They are obviously in dire need of your (or for that matter, our) help and it may be the only reason why they put their time and effort to reach out to us. All I'm saying is be a BIT more SENSITIVE.

I understand her because I am also in need of a job. You might know for sure that the Philippines is experiencing surplus of nurses and far too little job openings. So, it's anyones lawful right to try and find other ways to succeed in his/her own respectful career which in her case is to move out of her country and find better opportunities abroad which her own mother country cannot provide. I'm hoping that you could dig deep in your heart and understand that not all people are like you. You may be successful in your career but do not rub it to anyone's face, like I said be SENSITIVE.

go back home, get some REAL experience in a hospital & come back here, fresh graduates are not accepted by the local health authorities...the requirements for doctors are a minimum of 3 year's experience, not sure about the requirement's for nurses but am pretty sure that your 10 months is far from enough, you might get some other job as a private nurse or something & the person hiring you may not require that you have a lisence in Qatar but then again, you won't get paid much, that's the price you would pay for being unlisenced & it's also against the law,so God forbid,in the event of some mishap, you'll get in trouble with the authorities & will most likely be deported & never be allowed to enter the country again,IMHO,the small salary you may earn from the small private job you may get isn't worth that risk, don't be in a hurry young lady, get some real work experience THEN come back here, apply for a lisence & get a REAL job...good luck...
