Any Advice On Qatar Airways? Could it be SO bad to work for them?

I would like to clarify some things about Qatar Airways.

Before all I would like to state that I'm not racist for a fact I hate everybody equally. Most of ALL Qatar Airways Cabin Crew are AWESOME PEOPLE!!! In general the bad part comes out of management ( NOT RACIST !) Indian management who has no clue how to run international business and they think this is India Airlines. Now I'm not talking smack i Fly with QA 3-4 times a month for short trips and I know that some people think that they know what they do but these two MUDIR's have no clue and they just nudge with their head just like my dear friend Najib who works in store next to my house. Aside that Qatar Airways have more Indian Managers and Bangladeshi maybe they should consider change of name to India Air coz that is the way that management is acting beside the point that Qatar Airways is Q A T A R owned. Maybe the owner should consider selling it or just as they do change some managers to succeed in new goals.

hello i am a 21/male canadian i was wondering if any one could help me with a couple of interview tips or if you knew any one that works for qatar airways that would be able to tell me what to expect seeing as i had just been recently contacted by qatar airways HR. and if you would think it would be worth going to this recruiting campaign in bahrain seeing as its just submission the first day and will be contacted for a group interview for the following day if your cv is selected (i know it says not to go if its out of your way but i apply d to almost five recruiting campaigns but this is the only one that answered) because i live in dubai and it would be a little far. plz contact me at [email protected]

Qatar Airways is the leading airline of this decade for sure , there is some jealousy factor in some people who works for another airliner .. so they don't talk about this airline in a good way ... so if you have heard anything ridiculous about QA .. just forget !

Why and what's the reason of not applying for a position in Commercial Div?

If you want to know how it is to work for QA, just read the papers. They are now investigating malpractices in employment of people after the hoola baloo of 23 Qatari pilots being terminated.

They hire and fire people at their will and this is not the CEO's fault. There is another Arab guy running the show and who had been influencing the wrong practices of hiring and firing.

One tip.....never apply for a position in the Commercial division.

Does Qatar Airways look for westerners for admin, secretarial or something like that work???

QA flies non stop from Doha to more destinations then any other airline.

Skytrax has voted QA cabin attendants best in middle east and 2nd best in the world.

It is a comparatively young airline, mistakes are made in process but comfort of non stop travel and frequency that QA has is a great service for residents of Qatar.

I was flying with BA on a 8 hr transatlantic flight and I had made special request for food (they were advised week in advance) but guess what no food, had to eat peanuts for more then 8 hours.. Does that mean BA is a bad airline, no its not but these things happens.

All airlines have issues with delays and all are working hard to minimize them, QA has better on time performance than many big name airlines.

I hope your next flight with QA is on time, if not then call airliner (Qatarliving Member) he works for QA I think

One of the worst international airlines in the world, in my opinion, for customer care. I think they were voted best airline by business travellers, not the general public. In business or first, your treated like royalty because thats where airline industry votes usually come from. But fly in cattle class and its a different story. I think the strategists for this airline should be told what a poor service they are providing to the general flying public.

Only reason they are popular is because they are cheap (for economy) and they have a virtual monopoly on doha airport.

Qatar Airways is the worst airline I have ever flown on. Always at least a 2 hour delay, the stewards are useless, and they think that just because they give you fancy food and a tv in the seat it will make up for the general rudness of the airline crew and the fact that you are running 2 hours late.

wow. i'm joing QA soon, and didn't know bout this. i thought that they have the best customer service in the middle east since they were awarded to be the best by skytrax. geez... i'm now a bit concerned..

flown with them ... and always delay. Either it is our luck or what i don't know. Will nv fly with QR for long haul anymore.

Not to mention the fact that they treat all their staff like crap. The staff turnover is ridiculously high especially among westerners

Cactiflora... if you want my advice, try etihad airlines of the UAE. They are newer and you have much more opportunities. If you are experienced you will make cabin manager within a couple of years. Its true that QR pay a little more than etihad but etihad just recently raised their duty allowance to abou US$150 per day. You are also given the option of taking cash instead of accommodation and transport. But the overriding factor, in my opinion, is that QR is awful when it comes to customer service and this reputation is spreading.
