3 Feet Away From Gold
Once upon a time, there was a man, who set foot on a land in search for a pot of gold or loads of it, so to speak...
He had staked his claim on the ground keeping in mind of its precious find, and went to work digging for it...
however, after seemingly bottomless pit of digging, not even a speck of a dust of the most sought after gold can be traced from the mound....
despite a hundred feet or so of digging, still no sign of hope can be found...
frustration overcame his senses and finally succumbing to the calling of defeat...
his valiant attempt that was, all went down the drain... and he left the place, set sail far away sore and empty handed.
is this an example of what we call failure?
....
i love to continue telling for more of the story, but first, let me know what you think does the title tell us about this man's mis-adventure?
yes, that is a lesson to be learn from the story itself.
but there are more to it than what the story directly implies :)
surprising, people doesn't know the lesson?
lesson is take the advice of expert before you quit....
you got it way too close than what is called upon. :)
actually it was 3 feet and not inches ;)
...so what does the lesson of the story tells then?
ive read this one from napoleon hill's book, think and grow rich. the gold was just a couple of inches below where he stopped. someone else continued digging and the other guy got the treasures.
correct hariibon?
"For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack."

maybe yes maybe not...
i reckon, the story tells more of human triumph and defeat infront of great opportunity... that was lost,
somewhere between that 3 feet along the way :(
Isn't there a Scotsman and Spider in this story somwhere ??
it's kind a funny at first read... but then again,
there lies deeper some lessons to be learned.
as what the title implies :)
baldrick2dogs getting close, he's almost 3 feet away... ;)
OK, a few things:
1. When you are neck deep in sh!t, it's time to stop digging.
2. If at first you don't succeed, try try try again.
3. Who told him there was gold and where to dig?
4. Not everything will be where you first look for it.
