Dates: February 18 to 21

Time: 3pm to 10pm

Venue: Darb Al Saai, Umm Salal

Organised in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture, the event is part of efforts to boost bilateral cultural co-operation through a raft of activities. They will highlight Saudi Arabia’s prolific cultural legacy with the participation of a contingent of Saudi art and heritage specialists.

The event will offer the public a superb chance to interact with the rich Saudi heritage through exhibits highlighting aspects of Saudi culture.

“This event isn’t merely an exhibition of innovation. It intends to pay tribute to the one cultural root where Qatari and Saudi culture intersects. This week will be an incredible experience that reflects the two counties’ shared identity and accentuates the rock-solid cultural relationship between them,” said Ministry of Culture’s Culture and Arts Department Director Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Dulaimi.

Qatar and Saudi Arabia not only share geographical boundaries, but deep feelings, traditions, and cultural values, said Al Dulaimi.

“I look forward to having an event that bolsters this shared legacy and to nurture the domestic cultural scene with an experience that highlights Saudi creativity,” he added.

The cultural week will feature a many cultural institutions, including the Saudi Literature Publishing Translation Commission, Theatre and Performing Arts Commission, Heritage Commission, Music Commission, Film Commission, Architecture and Design Arts Commission, Libraries Commission, Fashion Commission, and Culinary Arts Commission.

Also participating in the event are Royal Institute of Traditional Arts and the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy.

The ‘2025 Year of Handicrafts’ initiative will make its debut by featuring a pavilion showcasing the cultural year and the significance of handicrafts.

The initiative intends to raise awareness of handicrafts as a key component of Saudi culture, with innovators demonstrating their skills and engaging directly with the audience.

The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy will organise an Arabic calligraphy exhibition to showcase items in glass displays, including calligraphy pens, pressed paper, and silk thread ink.
