Qatar, Abu Dhabi ready to help Indonesia develop seven million homes
Indonesia is set to receive assistance from the governments of Qatar and UAE’s Abu Dhabi to develop up to seven million housing units for Indonesians, confirmed the country’s Housing Task Force.
“According to President Prabowo Subianto, the Qatari government is ready to fund the development of five million homes. Meanwhile, a Qatari philanthropist has also expressed readiness to fund one million homes personally,” Indonesia’s Housing Task Force chief Hashim Djojohadikusumo said recently, according to the Indonesian News Agency Antara.
“During my visit to Abu Dhabi, the government declared its readiness to help (for the development of) one million housing units,” he added.
With the support of Middle Eastern countries, Djojohadikusumo said he was confident the government’s development target of 15 million housing units within five years of President Prabowo’s term will be achieved.
Djojohadikusumo made the remarks during a charity event with Housing and Settlement Minister Maruarar Sirait at the Rawa Buaya public residential complex in West Jakarta.
