Workers Sports Complex opened in Al Khor

The Al Khor Workers Sports Complex was formally opened on Monday at a ceremony attended among others by Minister of Labour and Social Affairs and officials of the Barwa Real Estate Company.

The project was designed and developed  by Barwa Real Estate Company in partnership with the Supreme Committee of Delivery and Legacy and Qatar Foundation.

The project offers spaces for sports activities serving workers community in Al Khor and Al Shamal cities.

The inauguration, which preceded the celebrations of Qatar National Sport Day,  marks the opening of phase 1 of the project, which consists of facilities for  football, cricket, volleyball and basketball.

The complex  features shops to sell food and beverages as well as other facilities.

Barwa said the sports complex was “a continuation of its aspirations to achieve sustainable growth through an investment beyond real estate”.

"It is an investment in building a solid community,” it added.

The complex is being developed in line with the goals and objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The sports complex is being developed by Barwa with the intention of tackling  some of the urgent social requirements of the workers in Qatar, officials said. | Source: gulf-times.com | Photo: jahrock91
