Woqod to open seven new vehicle inspection centres in 2017
Qatar has stringent rules in place when it comes to inspection of health of vehicles. People with vehicles older than three years are expected to make annual inspections in order to get their papers renewed.
Until a few years ago, vehicle inspection trips used to elicit nightmare scenarios, with hot days, never-ending queues and unlimited waiting times under the hot sun.
All that changed for the better when Woqod started introducing Fahes, a new generation of inspection centres, which made the process almost painless. And now, Woqod is planning to open seven new centres around the country by next year.
The seven new inspection centres will be located at Al Shahaniyah, Al Khor, Al Wukair, Al Mazrooah, Madinat Al Shamal, Al Wajba and Mesaimeer South, reported Qatar Tribune.
Construction is currently underway and they are expected to open next year.
Woqod is also coordinating with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment for allocation of land in suitable locations to set up 34 more petrol stations.
