Two new mobile fuel stations to begin working in a week’s time
If you are a vehicle owner in Qatar, you might have noticed a significant increase in the time it takes you to fill petrol at a fuel station. While the service itself is quite fast and efficient, the serpentine queues in front of petrol pumps eat into your time.
The shutting down of several older fuel stations in the country and failure to open new ones has only added to the bottleneck. However, Qatar Fuel (Woqod) has started rolling out mobile fuel stations in a bid to better manage distribution of petrol.
Two new mobile fuel stations in high-density areas — near Jaidah flyover in Rawdat Al Khail and Al Sadd — have been installed and will start functioning by the end of the week, according to Qatar Tribune.
The four fuel booths installed as part of the temporary arrangement will provide both super and premium petrol. At the moment, there are no provisions for dispensing diesel at the mobile fuel stations.
People making use of the new facility will have to carry cash with them. Prepaid card system has not been installed yet. Up to eight cars can be filled at one time.
