Traffic at airport on the rise
Doha International Airport (DIA) yesterday announced that its passenger footfall increased by 12.45 percent to 1,973,823 in February 2014 compared to the same period in 2013. February cargo traffic also increased by 12.69 percent at DIA.
“DIA is seeing continuous growth across its entire portfolio from passenger numbers and aircraft movements, to its mail and cargo traffic,” said Abdulaziz Al Mass, Senior Public Relations and Communications Manager, DIA.
“As Qatar continues to grow as an important hub for regional and international transport services, our focus remains on providing a seamless and hassle-free experience for our passengers and clients,” he said.
In addition to growing passenger and cargo numbers, inbound mail traffic increased by 13.8 percent compared to February 2013 and aircraft movements grew by 7.04 percent year-on-year.
