Temperature in Qatar to plunge on back of Siberian weather condition

Those who thought that the worst of the winter is behind them should think again. Meteorologists in the country have warned that a high-pressure condition from Siberia will sweep into Qatar beginning today, bringing the temperature down a lot.

The strong north-westerly winds that hit the country last weekend are likely to return tonight, reported The Peninsula.

The Siberian high pressure system over Qatar is expected to last until Saturday night. The mercury is expected to dip after a brief rise in temperature over the past few days.

Forecasts say that temperatures in Doha will drop to a maximum of 20 to 23 degree Celsius and a minimum of 13 to 16 degree Celsius during the period.

However, the minimum temperature is likely to drop below 10 degree Celsius in open areas and southern parts of the country.

Everyone should be mindful of the change in weather conditions and take adequate precautionary measures.

Meanwhile, Qatar experienced misty to foggy conditions in various areas yesterday evening. Visibility in Al Khor fell to less than 1km due to dense fog.

Today, the weather will be foggy at most areas with poor visibility, and improving by day.
