Tamim Al Majd poster gets set to create a Guinness World Record
The Tamim Al Majd poster has become a rallying cry for Qatari nationalism following the start of the illegal siege on June 5. It was a large part of Qatar’s recent National Day programme and each day, people find new ways of celebrating it.
A group of students from the College of North Atlantic ‑ Qatar (CNA-Q) will launch the largest printed poster of Tamim Al-Majd image on Friday(December 29). Once completed, the 16,000sqm painting will enter the Guinness Book of World Records, breaking the previous mark of 15,000sqm set in Switzerland, reported The Peninsula.
People are welcome to see the image on Friday and Saturday, from 4 to 10 pm, on an island next to the Ritz-Carlton Doha, owned by Katara Hospitality.
Faisal Saif Al Muhannadi, a student of CNA-Q, is the brain behind the idea. The poster will be made of Banner Flex Paper 610gm, which is 128M high and 125M wide.
The painting will consist of 104 pieces, each of 36M height and 5M width. By the time it is unveiled, it would have taken eight days of solid work to complete.
