Sponsor letter and computer card no longer needed to apply for driver’s license?
Things on the driving license front in Qatar seems to be under a constant state of change.
Reports had recently emerged that people in possession of driving license from five countries had been exempt from taking the test in Doha. Similarly, there were also talk about how more professions would soon be added to the list of those ineligible for applying for a license.
Now, Al Khebra Driving Academy, one of the older driving schools in Qatar, posted on their social media page that a sponsor letter (NOC) and ‘computer card’ are no longer required to apply for a place in the driving school.
“Please be informed of the new procedure to be followed on applying for a Qatar Driving License. All applicants who are under their Company's sponsorship are not required to provide a Sponsor Letter (NOC) AND COMPUTER CARD anymore from their Company,” it wrote on its scoial media page.
“Every Company can apply directly through METRASH 2. The print-out METRASH 2 report will be provided to be attached together with the other requirements,” the post said.
Have you noticed this change taking effect? Do you think it will help the process of getting a license in Qatar in any way?
