Small fire contained at Mall of Qatar, no injuries

The under-construction Mall of Qatar reported a small fire yesterday, but it was contained with no injuries or loss to property.

The fire broke out at one of the shops undergoing fit-out at the Mall of Qatar, expected to be softly launched on December 10.

“At Mall of Qatar, we have invested in the latest state-of-the-art fire control systems that worked perfectly. Moreover, our safety and security officers are highly trained to act promptly in emergency situations.

Besides, we follow global best practices when it comes to safety and emergency evacuation procedures,” said a statement from the Mall of Qatar.

The Mall of Qatar suffered from another fire incident in April, but once again, it had been brought under control without injuries.

Once open, Mall of Qatar is expected to feature 500 plus retail outlets, including more than 100 food joints.
