SEC announces a photography contest for all residents of Qatar

Are you an ardent photographer? Then you should know that a photography contest is amidst us.

The Supreme Education Council (SEC) along with Al-Salam International introduced the Best Vintage photography contest in Education, yesterday.

The contest which is open to all residents of the country should focus on the different facets of education in Qatar.

The scope of photography that will qualify for the contest are, photographs of students who have turned out to be prominent figures in the country, photographs of important educational conferences and seminars held in Qatar and photographs of significant educational events and competitions, that could be international, regional or local, in which Qatar took part.

All entries must be submitted by November 12 and out of those photographs, the ten best photos that stand out will be chosen.

Jaber al-Shawy, SEC’s media and communication assistant manager, said: “Qatar has rapidly transformed its educational landscape to complement the diversifying economic goals. Today, Qatar stands as the beacon of knowledge as we work together to create a world-class educational system.”

He also added, “The Supreme Educational Council is honoured to celebrate the nation’s spectacular journey towards enlightenment. The Best Vintage Photography contest will serve as a unique platform for every resident in the country to be part of this amazing journey.” 

AbdulSalam Issa Abu Issa, deputy COO of Salam International, said: “Photography has always been deeply rooted in the history of Salam International. We are excited to celebrate this passion once again through the Best Vintage Photography contest, which will capture the country’s humble aspirations, over the decades, of becoming a world leader in education.”

The results of the competition will be announced in the official website of SEC and its social media outlets.

The selected winners will receive a state-of-the-art digital camera in a special award ceremony which will be held at the SEC grounds on the Qatar National Day. [Gulf Times]
