Qatar's PM takes part in GCC interior ministers' meeting
His Excellency Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani yesterday took part in a meeting that virtually brought together the Ministers of Interior of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCC).
The 37th meeting of the GCC interior ministers was held via video communication technology.
The meeting dealt with a number of issues on the agenda, including consolidating efforts in the area of security.
The ministers discussed ways to enhance security cooperation between the GCC countries.
Moreover, the meeting looked into the most recent and prominent developments in the field of security at a regional and international level.
Qatar has always actively voiced the need to resolve crises through dialogue and combined efforts to maintain regional security and stability. The country has stressed this at several important meetings, local and global events.

The GCC was founded in 1981 in Abu Dhabi. The primary objective was to promote cooperation and cohesion between member states. The GCC, at its establishment, aimed to foster economic, cultural, scientific and environmental relationships between member states. Security concerns were also addressed by the creation of a defense council, which facilitates military cooperation among member countries
