Qatar welcome 2.18 million tourists until September

If the numbers are to be believed, then Qatar continues to be a hot spot for global tourists.

The country received around 2.18 million visitors until September this year, according to statistics released by the Qatar Tourism Authority. Out of this, around 1.09 million belonged to GCC countries.

Visitors from Saudi Arabia touched 746,598, an 8% increase from the same period in 2015.

The number of visitors from the UAE saw a significant increase, 17%, while those from Bahrain and Kuwait increased by 3% and 2% respectively.

With the launch of the cruise season, Qatar is expected to see even more tourists in the country.

Qatar recently started a system to give four-day tourist visas to transiting passengers and that too is expected to add to the number of visitors in the year’s last quarter.
