Qatar schools closed on Thursday due to sandstorm - SEC
The Supreme Education Council has announced that due to the terrible wind and sandstorm, there will be no school on Thursday, 2 April 2015.
The Meteorology Department has forecast strong winds until Friday evening. However, some relief is expected by Thursday noon.
The condition was attributed to high pressure extending from northwest of Saudi Arabia associated with fresh to strong northwesterly winds.
Overnight severe dust storms spread across Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Here are some photos shared by readers.
