Qatar joins other GCC member states in preparatory meeting for Arab Summit
In what appears to be a positive step towards the easing of the ongoing Gulf crisis, Qatar in addition to all six GCC member states has participated in a preparatory meeting of the 30th Arab Summit, which will be held in Tunisia tomorrow.
Earlier this week Qatar took part in the 12th periodic meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Presidents of Legislative Councils, hailed by Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker, Mazrouq Ali Al Ghanim as a good sign that the Gulf crisis may end soon.
Qatar participated in the meeting with a delegation led by His Excellency the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, reported Qatar Tribune.

Moreover, discussions will be centered on plans regarding the synchronization of the Arab regular and economic summits, the Arab strategy for human rights, support for internally displaced persons in Arab countries, maintenance of Arab national security and combating terrorism, as well as the development of the Arab League.
Qatar’s Minister of State of Foreign Affairs also participated in the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers to discuss Golan Heights issue on the sidelines of the preparatory ministerial meeting of the 30th Arab Summit.
Arab foreign ministers in the consultative meeting for the upcoming Arab Summit came up with a final draft of a declaration to be submitted to Arab leaders for approval.
According to Gulf Times, the consultative meeting was dominated by a consensus on most Arab issues on the summit's agenda despite extensive discussions that took place among the participating delegations on the final draft of the declaration, mainly regarding the wording of the Arab position on the issue of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights,.
The ministers were in agreement on condemning the American position and stressed that the occupied Golan is a Syrian Arab land according to international law and international legitimacy.
A consensus formula is currently being sought to guarantee Syrian rights and to block any attempt to undermine the legal status of the occupied Golan and to reject Israeli sovereignty over it.

I just hope and pray that the ice really melts down and the same brotherly relations as before develop. There is no doubt that in unity lies strength.
