Private Sector gets a shot in the armpit
According to a news, the Supreme Council has yesterday decided to privatize Qatar Petro-Chemical Co. through Doha Exchange by giving shares to the citizens.
On top of it, the Council decided to remove obstacles that are not allowing private businesses to grow.
The meeting was headed by H.H. the Amir. The above two landmark decisions clearly indicate that the Govt is keen to allow citizens to take over most of the businesses and generate prosperity for the country and for themselves.
This also indicates that, the Govt. is now moving further towards taking up the role of business regulator, instead of business runner which is indeed visionary and would bring in far reaching results.
This also shows that the new ministerial team is on the right track and is set to take more bold yet prudent decisions for the continued and sustained development all across.
In line with the above, there is also a need to liberalize the private sector Monopolies, that would enable the market to expand and disperse the profits away from few hundreds to thousands of new entrepreneurs.
