Over 2.1 million complete National Address registration
More than 2.1 million people in Qatar, including citizens and residents, have registered for the National Address until now, a top official from the Ministry of Interior (MOI) has confirmed.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Dr Abdullah Zayed Al Sahli, head of the National Address Section - Public Security, the response has been "very good" and the Ministry has met "68 percent of its target."
Lieutenant Colonel Al Sahli told Arabic daily Arrayah that failure to register for the National Address in time will have consequences on certain transactions such as RP renewal. These transactions can relate to both individuals and companies.

The MOI official mentioned that there is some flexibility for people stranded outside of Qatar, due to COVID-19-related travel restrictions.
He also said this applies to the citizens and residents who are currently abroad for education or treatment.
In these cases, the Ministry will allow the individuals to complete the National Address registration without penalties. These individuals will have to present certificates that prove their stay abroad.
As for companies, Lieutenant Colonel Al Sahli said all government and private institutions must complete the process of registration.
Any company that has a registration number must register its address, he said, adding that if the company has more than one branch, each branch needs to be registered individually.
He also mentioned that the Ministry has provided facilities to members of the community to help with the registration process for domestic workers.
All individuals residing in Qatar (expatriates and locals) are required to register their national address under the National Address Law (Law No 24 of 2017).
To register, individuals are asked to fill in their data in a simple form that will ask for your residential address, land phone number, mobile number, email, employer’s address for government and private sector employees, permanent address aboard, and any other information specified by the relevant authority.
Under Article 6 of the National Address Law, a fine not exceeding QR10,000 will be imposed on anyone who violates any of the provisions of Articles (3) and (4) of this law, or deliberately provided incorrect data about the national address.
