No traffic fines for certain violations during Eid - Traffic Department
The Traffic Department in Qatar ran a massive three day awareness campaign during the Eid holidays in an attempt to improve road safety and minimize accidents.
The traffic department highlighted that the government was not interested in collecting money through fines, the Peninsula reported.
Authorities explained that fines were only used as an effective deterrent measure to ensure safety for all the road users.
Any motorists that were involved in any kinds of traffic rule violations during the awareness campaign will be sent notices to make them aware about the same.
However, there will be no fine imposed against their respective traffic violations committed.
The main idea of the programme is to make the motorists aware about the common traffic violations made by them so that they do not repeat such mistakes in future.
Did you commit any traffic violation during Eid? Were you notified of your offence by the Traffic Department?
Did it mean that during Eid - if you had your head covered by a towel - you could have gone over any person or put his/her car into flames with him/her being burnt inside without being fined? Oh, then Eid is all the year round.
it also applies to people who do commit the crime ..but doesnt care much ..because they can pay.
Why should they be salary based? You know the risks , so don't do the crime
Agree with zaheer.
Fines should be either Salary based or Car make - model based (in my view Of course)
" ... fines were only used as an effective deterrent measure to ensure safety for all the road users." And that's exactly what it's not.
which on the hundreds of violations is spared? Is somebody already tried running on a red light? :)
