News of ‘Lulu gift vouchers’ spreading through WhatsApp is a fake
Since the last two days, you may have got at least one forward from friends or in groups talking about taking an online survey and getting discount vouchers from Lulu Hypermarket in return. If the offer looked like it was too good to be true, then it is.
A spokesman for the Lulu Hypermarket Group said that news of discount vouchers, which has gone viral on social media, is a fake, reported Gulf Times.
“A website link promising gift vouchers from Lulu Hypermarkets Qatar has been spreading on the social media from yesterday. The link promises QR500 worth Lulu gift vouchers for filling up a short survey of three questions and asks the public to share the link to 10 of their friends to receive the voucher.
“This has gone viral among the residents of Qatar. Many did the survey thinking that they will receive the voucher from LuLu Hypermarkets,” he said.
He said that the link was a spam attempt and there were no such offers from Lulu Hypermarkets. A statement has also been posted on Lulu Hypermarket’s website.
