New labour health centre and medical commission opens in Mesaimeer
A new labour health centre along with a medical commission unit that could serve more than 40,000 people a month has been opened at Mesaimeer.
The health centre was inaugurated by HE Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari, Minister of Public Health. A number of officials from the Ministry of Public Health and Qatar Red Crescent attended the function.
The health centre has the capacity to receive 32,000 visitors per month and an additional 11,000 visitors in the medical commission unit. The centre is operated by Qatar Red Crescent under an agreement with the Ministry of Public Health, reports Gulf Times.
Al-Kuwari said that Qatar was keen on providing the best treatment and preventive healthcare services for the people residing in the country. She stressed that workers were provided with healthcare services of a high standard.
The minister pointed out that the inauguration of the centre at Mesaimeer was one of the Ministry’s many healthcare projects for single workers. These projects include four health centres, three modern hospitals, as well as medical commission units.
Mesaimeer’s Labour Health Centre consists of 12 general clinics, specialised clinics in the fields of occupational medicine, internal medicine, ophthalmology, ENT, chronic diseases, dermatology, cardiac diseases and lung diseases and five dental clinics.
The centre includes a bandaging and minor surgery room, and an acute cases section that has 12 beds.
