The maximum speed limit on Salwa Road has been given a boost

Qatar has a lot of highways crisscrossing it and the Salwa Road is considered one of the best among them.

At least some of you, who are driving along the road, may have felt frustrated by the highway’s 120kmph speed limit.

Now you have reasons to be happy as the maximum speed allowed after the Industrial Area intersection on Salwa road is now 140kmph, reported The Peninsula, quoting a senior official from the Traffic Department.

Major Jaber Mohamed Rashid Odaiba, Assistant Director of Media & Traffic Awareness at the General Directorate of Traffic, said that all roads have clear signboards mentioning the maximum speed and the speed limit on Salwa Road is 120kmph after the industrial area intersection.

However, the traffic department has allowed an extra 10 km/h as a percentage of error on this road. And since Salwa Road is very long, an additional 10 kmph limit has been added to the maximum allowed speed of 120 kmph.

In effect, the maximum allowed speed on Salwa Road will be 140kmph.

great news; there's other awesome stretches of highway that could benefit from higher limits too so hopefully the traffic department's kindness won't stop with salwa road :-)
