Man sentenced to 10 years in jail for drug possession
A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced an Asian man to 10 years in jail and a fine of QR200,000 for illicit drug possession and dealing, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
The court also sentenced his Pakistani friend to six months in jail and QR10,000 for illicit drugs consumption in addition to the subsequent deportation of both.
The issue began when the first defendant offered to sell a secret police source some heroin for QR500. Accordingly, the source met him a petrol station where a police patrol trapped him.
He admitted making such a deal. A small quantity of heroin, wrapped in paper, was found with him. Some pieces of opium were also hidden in his vehicle.
During interrogation, the man told the investigators that he got such illicit drugs from his Pakistani friend, who used to live in the same area.
Though a search of the second defendant's house yielded no illicit drugs, a blood test indicated he used to consume hashish.
Eventually, the court convicted them based on the related material evidences.

We all breath in the same air , walk on the same earth's crust ................
Brit, No body makes such mistakes in normal situations. We need to be human with those who follow wrong path, may be the tough circumstances had pushed them on a wrong path ........... There nationality does not matter to us , it's a concern for those who are involved in such cases ..........
It looks like main accused is from reporter's country.
SHAME ON REPORTING & PUBLISHING PEOPLE :
The main Criminal is Mentioned as "AN ASIAN " why dont you have courage to name his nationality ...He must be your countryman thats why you are saving your country name ..RUBISSH REPORTER & RUBISH PUBLISHER.........
MM: I'm confused.. In another post you were adamant that the nationality should not be shared ...
Brit, it's im-material ............. we all are made of earth, water, air, fire & sky .............. does not matter ........... all came from the same source ............
I second britexpat, that's what we call discrimination.
Good going - Drugs ruin lives , destroy familes and can kill ...
One question though... Is a Pakistani not also an Asian ? Why give the nationality of one and not the other ?
Well done to the police and courts - joys
