Inspectors raid restaurants in City Center Mall
Members of a joint inspection team from two key ministries were shocked to discover during a raid that several eating outlets at City Center didn’t have commercial licence to operate as eateries, while many were found violating food safety and hygiene rules.
The joint team comprises inspectors from the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
The outlets have been taken to task, Al Sharq reported yesterday.
The team will continue to inspect eateries during Ramadan.
The joint team has been formed since it has been observed that some eateries don’t have commercial licence and violate food safety and hygiene rules.

keep eating in Ponderosa for a month, hell will come fast and swift by heart attack. The food they have just clogs up your arteries.
Ponderosa is hell on earth, a punishment far worse than death.
vasta. I didn't understand meaning of "being taken to Ponderosa". Ponderosa is a restaurant.
I have always thought you could do anything you want in this town and nothing would happen. All the talk and warnings of implementing rules and laws is just talk. Do what ever you want people, there are no consequences - even if you're caught.
I bet the business owners are quaking in their Tamima sandals at the thought of being 'taken to task'. Almost as horrible as being taken to Ponderosa.
Any change of giving us the names??? The nursery in Villagio didn't have the correct licence either and led to the death of many kids...
