Indian man, who had not gone home in three decades, buried in Doha
It was only a few days back that it was reported that an Indian man, who had not visited home for more than three decades, had passed away in a road accident.
Gulf Times reports that the victim, 74-year-old Shaik Mohamed Rowther Dawood Sahib Haja Mohideen, who passed away after a car struck him while crossing the road in the Al Hilal Area, was buried at the Abu Hamour cemetery on Friday.
Though it was initially reported that his wife and daughter had passed away and that he was alone, it emerged that his son Abdul Jaleel was working in Qatar itself.
Abdul Jaleel presented valid documents at the Indian embassy to prove his relationship with the dead man.
Jaleel, who had been working at a construction firm since last year, lives in the Industrial Area.
The son obtained permission from his mother and sister, who are still alive, and went ahead with the burial in Qatar.
May he rest in peace.
I do feel sad for his wife though, who had not seen him for decades. Perhaps , there should be a time limit on the time an expat spends in a country
Rest in peace
