The Indian embassy received 291 labour-related complaints from Indian workers last month, an embassy statement said yesterday, without giving details and nature of grievances.

The embassy’s community welfare section received 3,558 labour complaints in 2013 and 3,385 the previous year, said the statement.

However, details like how many complaints were taken up for redressal were not provided.

Some 72 Indians were in the central prison and 140 at the deportation centres last week, the mission said. An embassy team visited the facilities to enquire about the welfare of the detainees.

Most people are afraid to complain because Qatar govt have no support so far for labour . IF they support , then Qatar Labour departments will be flooded with complaints . This is literal Hell for labors

In Qatar where the Indians are double the number of the Qataris I think they are strong enough without the need of their government. Wondering why the officials not giving a word about the complains of their citizens.

INDIAN Embassy need to be strong and very well organized... Foreign Minister and Consular needs to talk to CID and Foreign Mininter of Qatar.

We need to lay-down strict rules and make sure every single citizen is Guarded and is Respected and is in Peace.. In Sha Allah...
