If you're an Instagram user and didn't get the service for a short time this morning, you weren’t alone!
If you are addicted to Instagram and opened the app today morning to see that it was not working, then you weren’t alone.
If you thought the popular social media service was the latest app to be banned by Qatar’s communication authorities, then you would be mistaken. It was a global outage and people around the world were unable to use the service for a short period as well.
Problems were first reported in the UK and parts of Europe, but then it seemed to spread far and wide.
When trying to access the web version of the popular social media app, one was greeted with the error ‘5XX Server error.’
The mobile version of the app displayed the message ‘could not refresh feed.’
News about the outage made waves in social media and here are a few samples.

This is not the first time Instagram fans have been left without access to the app in the past few months. It was hit by outages several times in recent months, with one happening exactly a month earlier. There were outages also in May and July.
While the service is now back online, we feel pretty confident about betting our money that quite a few engineers inside Instagram’s famed headquarters would be getting it from all sides right about now.
Happy Gramming!
