In huge raids, Qatari customs officials seize 59kg of marijuana
It’s another day and another huge victory for Qatar’s customs officials in their fight against drug trafficking.
The General Authority of Customs (GAC) seized as much as 59kg of the illegal drug, in five different cases, from the Hamad International Airport.
In all instances, the officials became suspicious of the conduct of passengers and subjected them to a more thorough search, resulting in the seizure of marijuana packets ranging from 3 to 7kg, reported Gulf Times.
GAC chairman Ahmad bin Ali Al Muhannadi honoured the five customs officials for their alertness and dedication to duty.
The incidents of smuggling contraband drugs through the Hamad International Airport have spiked in recent months. However, alert officers have also been able to foil most of these attempts. Kudos to the officials for keeping Qatar safe from these ills.
