Have you checked out the vintage computers exhibition in Katara yet?
If you are a history buff, and if you are reading this item on Qatar Living, then one of the exhibitions currently ongoing at the Katara Cultural Village is going to interest you a lot.
The exhibition, showcasing the evolution of computers, video games, and other technological devices in Qatar, is being organised by the Al Senaidi Museum for Computer History, reported Gulf Times.
Abdul Rahman Al Senaidi, an avid collector of old computing machines, said that the exhibit features early computing devices like the abacus, vintage laptops and computers by Microsoft and Apple, classic films, printers, as well as forerunners of modern video games.
An extensive library of books on computers and video games are also on display.
Al Senaidi’s first computer for personal use was a Sakhr, which was developed in the 1980s by Al Alamiah, a Kuwaiti company that produced an Arabic-language version of MSX computers.
For many people, the exhibition will be a trip down memory lane. For children, it will be a reminder of what their fathers and grandfathers once used to get things done around in office.
The exhibition will conclude on January 25. Have you been there yet? Are you planning to check it out?
Will go there before January 24
