Hamad International Airport to open in January
According to the Minister of Transport, his HE Mr. Jassim Seif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Doha's new Hamad International Airport will open in January 2014.
Cargo flights at the new airport have already started since last week, and passenger flights will commence in the new year.
The soft opening will see ten carriers initially move to Hamad International, operating out of Concourse B.
These airlines are Air Arabia; Air India Express; Biman Bangladesh Airlines; Flydubai; Iran Air; Nepal Airlines; Pakistan International Airlines; RAK Airways; Syrian Air; and Yemen Airways.
Meanwhile, Qatar Airways will continue to fly to and from Doha International Airport, before moving its entire operations to Hamad International later in 2014.

Soft launch: Open up for carriers from developing nations. use them to identify issues and problems because they won't complain. Then open for the Big Boys when all is well.
