The grace period for illegal residents to leave Qatar begins today
The three-month grace period for illegal residents to leave the country without facing any legal consequences for their overstay begins today.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced the amnesty recently.
These are the documents required from applicants for departing the country during the amnesty period.
l. A valid passport.
2. If the passport is not available, a travel document issued from the embassy concerned should be produced.
3. An open ticket or a reserved ticket, after three working days from the date of accepting an application.
4. ID card or copy of the entry visa.
Applicants should visit the Search and Follow up Department between Sunday and Thursday, from 2pm to 8pm, during the amnesty period, which ends on December 1.
Under the amnesty scheme, foreigners residing in Qatar in violation of the provisions of Law No 4 of 2009 Regulating the Entry, Exit, Residence and Sponsorship of Expatriates can exit the country without any legal consequences.
The MoI has issued a notice on the amnesty announcement in 11 languages as part of its outreach initiative.

Correct, there should at least have been a white, a red, a black, and yellow face in the picture.
Modifab: Valid point.. I wonder how many of those pictured are actually staying here illegally ..

There could be some better options for these guys.
That's actually the trick, brit. By appealing at the Department and not having a ticket, the police can arrest the person and send them to jail.
So how does someone who is out of work or destitute obtain an air ticket home ?
Does this mean that embassies have to provide ?
