The First Annual GCC Handicraft Exhibition is now being held at the Sheraton Doha Resort.
The exhibition showcases unique and one-of-a kind products of 30 craftsmen from around the GCC. It also portrays the culture, tradition and heritage of the GCC region.
The exhibition was officially opened yesterday, with the ribbons being cut by the Qatar Tourism Authority chairman Issa bin Mohamed al-Mohannadi and undersecretaries for Tourism Affairs at Al Majilis Hall of the Sheraton Doha Resort.
The Qatar and Bahrain stalls had various products in display including, miniature wooden dhows, gypsum engravings, traditional chests etc.
Also, exhibitors like Fatma Maszouq from UAE explained about her home decors made with palm leaves. She said to the Gulf Times that her products like the mattresses, containers for food and medicine, dress bags and fans are bought by the rich back in her country.
