For the first time in history, Q-Post will home-deliver mails to PO Box clients

If you have been living in Qatar for any amount of time, then chances are that you have heard about Q-Post’s PO Boxes.

They are mailboxes one can hire at specific locations. Once you choose the facility nearest to your place, you can go there and collect mails in it at your convenience (or during working hours from Q-Post’s main branches).

But now, the times are a changing. For the first time in history, Q-Post will deliver mails inside your PO box directly to your home, reports Gulf Times.

The new service, which has been named ‘Home Delivery,’ covers both letters and parcels and is available to all personal PO Box subscribers. One can choose the frequency of delivery from one to six days a week, the newspaper reported.

Home Delivery is the first of a series of new products and services to be launched in the coming months, following a holistic modernisation process of postal services, according to The Peninsula.

At the moment, there are 27,000 registered personal PO Boxes in the country and the potential for growth for Home Delivery is massive.

Home Delivery promises to be a highly secure, consistent and private postal service.

“Qatar Post is ‘striving’ to offer best-in-class postal service across the country. This new service is the first in Qatar and marks the beginning of our new journey to boost our retail offering, in line with our transformation strategy,” said Q-Post Deputy Director of Retails & Customers Hassan Al Otaibi.

The charges

The yearly charges will vary according to the frequency of delivery services. If the frequency of delivery is once per week, then the charges are QR500.

Thrice-a-week delivery will be chargeable at QR1,500 and six-times a week delivery service will cost QR3,000.

Application procedure
