Expat to serve jail term for selling alcohol
A Doha Misdemeanour Court has sentenced a Sri Lankan man to a month in jail followed by deportation for selling alcoholic beverages.
According to Gulf Times, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that the case started with a woman complaining that the man used to sell such drinks in her area.
Police investigations confirmed the complaint and the identity of the man was determined based on the number plate of his vehicle.
The maid at the house of the complainant told her that the defendant used to come to the house to sell alcohol to a relative living with them.
Eventually, police arrest the defendant and court established his guilt.
Yeah, both drugs and alcohol are considered one and the same vice; don't understand why alcohol then is generally seen as a lesser evil... Strange...
