Education City mourns death of Cornell student
It is a sad day at Education City (EC).
The EC community is mourning the death of a pre-medical school student who was involved in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday afternoon.
20-year-old Jaber Al-Adba, a student at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q), was confirmed dead in an email sent to faculty and students by WCMC-Q’s Dean, Dr. Javaid Sheikh.
Students living in the Residence Halls in the campus were also notified of Al-Adba's tragic demise.
Doha News reports that Al Adba had apparently crashed near the WCMC-Q building while trying out his cousin’s motorcycle. The tragic accident reportedly happened around 3.50 pm.
Many of Al-Abda’s friends said they are in shock over his sudden demise and have coveyed their condolences on social media.
Qatar Foundation also took to Twitter to convey their condolences.
