Dreaded TV roundabout now open to traffic as a signal-controlled intersection
The dreaded TV Roundabout, which used to be a huge bottleneck very near the heart of Doha City, will finally cease to be so.
This is because Ashghal has transformed it into a signalled intersection and thrown it open to traffic, reported Gulf Times.
The signalled intersection at the newly redeveloped Ali bin Abi Talib Street in New Slata is expected to ease traffic congestion in the busy area to a huge degree.
“Ashghal is committed to open a number of important projects ahead of Eid Al Adha and the beginning of the new academic year in order to reduce congestion and ease traffic,” said Ashghal senior engineer and road projects manager Saoud Ali Al Tamimi told The Peninsula, during the inauguration.
Two road tunnels at the Pearl Qatar Interchange have also been opened to the traffic today.
“The new developments will contribute to enhancing better traffic flow. Conversion of TV and Sport roundabouts into signal-controlled intersections and development of Ali Bin Abi Talib Street and opening the two tunnels at the Pearl Interchange will certainly help traffic move more smoothly, especially during peak hours and school days,” said Ashghal’s Director of Engineering and Traffic Safety Department Brigadier Mohammed Abdul Rahim Marafia,
Yes, right.
This article is all over the place. I certainly hope I don't have to ask QLReporter for directions.
''I will be first the one to use it, I am trying for it.'' My boss says.
So much thanks, we were in need for a long time, congrats.
