Over 300 business meetings set to boost the regional sports industry.
ASPIRE4SPORT, the region’s leading sports business event today announced two more sports stars that will be participating in the event – English footballer Alan Shearer and legendary boxer Lennox Lewis.
Designed to give delegates and the wider public in Qatar a chance to hear some of the world’s best sports stars speak candidly about their achievements, their struggles, and road to fame, Lewis and Shearer will take part in the Stars Chat session, starting at 6pm on Saturday, 16 November. Stars Chat is one of ASPIRE4SPORTS’s most popular and highly anticipated elements each year.
Earlier in the week, organisers confirmed NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal will also take part in a Stars Chat session at 5pm on Sunday, 17 November, while Qatari sports stars Abdulaziz Al Kuwari and Saeed Alhajri take centre stage at ASPIRE4SPORT from 5pm on Tuesday, 19 November.
Commenting on the announcement, Hamad Saif Buhindi, Executive Director of ASPIRE4SPORT said: “We are delighted to be able to announce that Lennox Lewis and Alan Shearer will be joining Shaquille O’Neal, Abdulaziz Al Kuwari and Saeed Alhajri at ASPIRE4SPORT.”
“Each of them reached significant heights in their chosen sport and the Stars Chat sessions will give the public a unique opportunity to see them live and hear them talk about their careers.”
Lewis had a celebrated career, taking home a Gold Medal at the 1988 Olympic Games before going on to become the undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion. During his career, he amassed 41 wins from 44 fights.
Widely regarded as one of England’s greatest strikers, Shearer played 559 games at the top level for Southampton, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle. In a glittering international career, he scored 30 goals in 63 matches for England.
Organisers are set to announce the final two Stars Chat guests tomorrow. Stars Chat will be open for public audience.
Meanwhile, attendees to the conference and exhibition are taking advantage of an online networking tool to request meetings. Already, over 300 Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings have been planned involving delegates, exhibitors and guests.
“The business-to-business networking tool was introduced successfully last year at ASPIRE4SPORT and it is proving to be hugely popular again. ASPIRE4SPORT features an online tool designed to match up companies and we have custom designed rooms to accommodate the scheduled meetings.”
