Amir of Qatar participates in 45th GCC Summit in Kuwait
H.H the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will travel to Kuwait today, December 01, 2024. to lead Qatar's delegation at the 45th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Accompanying His Highness are HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Shikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, along with an official delegation.
This marks Kuwait's seventh GCC Summit since the Council's establishment in 1981. Discussions will focus on strengthening Gulf Cooperation across various sectors, addressing pressing regional and international issues, and advancing joint action to enhance regional stability.
Key topics on the agenda include developments in the Palestinian territories, Lebanon, and Sudan, as well as measures to bolster the GCC Common Market and Customs Union to support economic growth and integration among member states. Political analysts anticipate significant recommendations to tackle the region's political, economic, and security challenges.
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani also sent a cable of congratulations to the President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the occasion of his country's National Day.
