Souq Al Wakrah offers a perfect quieter and tranquil spot if you’re looking to chill out and unwind. It is quieter than the hustle and bustle of Souq Waqif with fewer shops making it a perfect stopover for a restful night stroll. The souq is divided into 10 zones of markets, restaurants, shops, animal & bird shops, and has a kid's playground, ample parking, and the Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar.
The outstanding part of the Souq is the long stretch of pristine sandy beach which is a source of peace. It stretches approximately 3 km along the town’s coast, with a corniche for people to walk along. On weekends, a lot of families visit this beach that has other facilities like a playground, toilets, and activities for kids.
The waterfront promenade of the Souq is lined with restaurants and cafés offering a wide range of options from Qatari, Middle Eastern to Italian and Indian food, with outdoor seating areas for you to take in the crisp sea air long into the night.
